21-23.09.2023: Nordic symposium on manors and manor museums in association with ENCOUNTER

02.11.2022: The homepage danskeherregaarde.dk now includes information on servants at Danish country houses for the years of 1787 and 1850.

05.07.2022: The Augustinus Foundation supports The Danish Research Centre for Manorial Studies’ work on servants at Danish country houses.

Who are we?

The Danish Research Centre for Manorial Studies (DCH) is a collaborative initiative involving Aarhus University, the National Museum of Denmark, Aarhus School of Architecture and the Gammel Estrup Manor House Museum. The mission of the Centre, which is based at the Gammel Estrup Manor House Museum, is to promote and coordinate research, the education of researchers, documentation and dissemination within the field of the cultural history of manor houses.
